& Process

I went through the whole interview process, which took over a month. I met with 5 different levels above the hiring manager. In the end, they offered me the role, but it was for $60k less than I'm currently making, even though they kept saying they could match or beat my current salary throughout the interviews.

It was a series of video calls. Everyone I met was really professional and super impressive. I talked with the COO, VP of Sales, Sales Director, CTO and co-founder, Head of Product and Marketing, VP of People, and the CEO. Each chat was about 30min to an hour, and they asked a good mix of questions about me and let me ask about the company and their experiences. Even though it was remote, they did a great job giving me a sense of the product, culture, and company vision. Overall, a great experience!

The interview experience at Snyk was disappointing. My initial contact, Jeff, who is no longer with the company, presented himself as an advocate for me. He spoke at length about the company's vision and leadership but provided little specific information about the role. He mentioned that due to DEI initiatives, my race might be a factor in hiring decisions, which was discouraging given my strong sales background. I attempted to contact Jeff multiple times through various channels without a response. This might be an isolated issue with the recruiter rather than the entire Snyk recruiting team, but I wanted to share my experience.
