Behavioral Technical Presentation

I applied online and someone from the company reached out. It turned out to be 3 interviews for me, though I think there were 5-6 total based on what they told me in the second interview. The first interview was with the person who reached out to me. They were late but let me know via email. It was a 'get to know you' chat to see my background and if it fit the role, and why I wanted to join and what my goals were. The second interview was with my potential supervisor. They were also late and didn't explain why. They seemed really excited about the role and company. We talked more about me, and they answered my questions. We got more specific about setting KPIs and what I thought the initial goals for the position should be. The third interview was with the CEO, and it was the worst interview experience I've ever had. They showed up over 10 minutes late with no warning, explanation, or apology. They rushed through two questions and then let me ask questions. They barely answered anything I asked because they seemed distracted by their phone or email. They cut the interview short before 30 minutes. They said I'd hear back in a few days or the next week, but I haven't heard anything. Honestly, I'm relieved because it sounds like they want you to come into the office for a 'coworking experience' and then a 'final presentation'. This job market is awful, people are losing jobs left and right, and we spend so much time searching, applying, and prepping for interviews, and they have the nerve to require all this nonsense just to be considered. They have no respect for candidates, and I won't give it back to them. I recommend looking for other opportunities.

Behavioral Technical Coding Presentation

I applied for a Senior Software Engineer role in December 2022. The interview process is pretty good, honestly, helps both sides figure out if it's a match. The first interview was a standard screening, checking my English. Then, I had a chat with the Director of Engineering about more high-level technical stuff. After that, a Technical Architect did a deep technical call, asking about full stack and React.js, and we did a peer programming exercise via screen share. Next up was the CEO, which went well and showed they really value product-focused engineers. The final stage is a take-home challenge, which I'm keeping mysterious. They really stressed focusing on the product and told me to reach out with questions anytime. Then, I had to present my mini-product to the team. Unfortunately, I didn't get the job because I couldn't finish the challenge, which meant the presentation was also incomplete. They did offer to pay me for the time I spent on the challenge, though.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • The technical team offered support, but I felt I didn't need it. The advice was to focus on the product result, but I ended up over-engineering the solution.

Applied for a Customer Service role but was instead considered for a Sales position. The interview proceeded despite my communication of limited sales experience and extensive (13 years) customer service background. I participated because of the urgent need for employment. While I understand the objective of a sales mock call is to achieve a sale, the interviewer was unreceptive to my potential and effort in making a sale with a 'difficult customer' they created for two scenarios. I received feedback on the interview's progression. I emailed the recruitment specialist afterward to inquire about being reassigned to the Customer Service role and being scheduled for an interview, but received no reply.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • Is the company's PH recruiting team still developing due to a lack of experience in proper job profiling? They need to master the crucial first step of recruitment, as failure here impacts everything else. Do they understand the specific tasks of a job, match them with the applicant's skills, experience, and personality, and interview accordingly? Should they give applicants a chance for positions that align with their existing skills?

Behavioral Technical

I was invited for an initial video screen. I met with someone associated with the company but who did not work there which was odd. The initial interview was pretty average, interviewer was kinda rude/had an ego. Second video interview was scheduled and rescheduled multiple times. Seems like the person coordinating was a hot mess. Anyway second interview was with the CEO/founder and was pleasant. CEO said I'd hear back about next steps by the end of the week. I followed up and got no response. I sent another email a week later after being ghosted for closure simply stating, " I'm going to assume your silence means you've gone in a different direction. Regards." I got a response saying they were going to extend an offer to someone else. Looks like it fell through though because a month later, the role is still posted...
