First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SMU.
Analyst
The interview was in person and the people were friendly. They made me feel comfortable even though I didn't get the job. The location was convenient, but I've heard that the workload there is pretty heavy.
- What are my salary expectations?
- What are my long-term intentions?
- What is my knowledge of data analysis?
Graduate Student
It was a good experience for students during the interview. The focus wasn't on the answers but on how you shared your train of thought during the interview. Grades weren't looked at much; it was purely based on whether we could speak up during the group interview. I would say it definitely differs with each interviewer.

Admin Executive
The interview lasted about 45 minutes and was quite manageable, following the standard procedure. The interviewer was friendly and directly discussed the job responsibilities. Overall, it went well.
- What motivated your decision to seek a new job?
Admissions Counselor
The interview progress was divided into two steps. The first step was with the team it self which I thought was irrelevant and they do have say in your hiring decision. Then the final interview is with the main head of your department. Overall the process took about two weeks.
- Why are you choosing SMU.
