First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SMS group Inc..
Mechanical Engineering Intern
The interview itself was on Microsoft Teams with two engineers from the hiring department. Getting the interview was super simple, I just applied online and got an invite.
- Could you explain why you're a good fit for this role at SMS group?
- What's a key goal you've set for yourself over the next five years?
- In what ways can SMS group assist you in achieving that goal?
Test Automation Engineer
I had a phone call first, then a virtual interview over MS Teams, followed by a 2.5 hour on-site interview. I thought it went pretty well, and they asked some follow-up questions. But then I never heard anything back, even after I called and emailed to check on the status. They totally ghosted me. It was really unprofessional and rude.
- What's prompting your job search for a new position?
Graduate Engineer Trainee
The whole process has four rounds. The first is an aptitude test with general questions like speed distance, profit loss, math, patterns, puzzles, logical reasoning, English grammar, and some current affairs. The second is a technical test covering oops and SQL. The third is a group discussion where you'll be given a topic and have to present your points. The fourth round is an interview where they ask questions based on your resume.
- Can you explain polymorphism and inheritance?
- What are some SQL query questions?
- Tell me about networking concepts like LAN, WAN, and different topologies.
Graduate Engineering Trainee
The interview process involved an offline test covering aptitude, quantitative ability, and general knowledge. This was followed by a group discussion that was conducted with high spirits and professionalism. Finally, there was an offline interview where questions were asked on inheritance, polymorphism, abstraction, computer networks, database management systems, web development, machine learning, and cloud computing, along with some HR-related questions.
- Can you explain Oops concepts?
- What are data structures?
- What do you know about computer networking?
