Since I was an internal candidate, the interview process felt a bit all over the place and not very organized. It was a bit worrying how little communication there was, and I really hope that people applying from outside get a smoother and more professional experience.

I was initially contacted by an interviewer who asked some basic C++ and multithreading questions. After passing that, I proceeded to the first round with a staff engineer. This interview was more of a self-assessment, starting with a question about polymorphism. I was then asked to implement a virtual function and then build my own vector class in an IDE. I struggled a bit with the copy constructor for the vector, and the interviewer provided some guidance. My feedback from the interview was that I needed to improve my basic understanding, even though I managed to answer and implement most of the questions. Because of this feedback process, I feel it's best to avoid this company.

Confirmed questions4 questions
  • Can you explain polymorphism and the differences between compile-time and run-time polymorphism?
  • Show me an example of implementing a virtual function in your preferred IDE.
  • Create your own vector class from scratch.

A male HR called and asked a few questions about my experience. It was a quick 10-minute call, and he mentioned they would reach out for a virtual interview. A few days later, a female HR contacted me to arrange the interview. I accepted the invitation and attended a 1.5-hour interview session. It wasn't stressful, and I actually enjoyed it. However, I was very disappointed because after emailing for a follow-up, I never heard back for weeks and then a month. I reached out to the female HR on WhatsApp, but she didn't provide the final results. As an HR professional myself, it's crucial to update candidates on their status, whether accepted or not. Don't leave them in limbo.

  • Can you tell me about your university research experience?
