First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Smith & Noble.
Designer
I met the head of sales manager Christina at a job fair. She was personable, easy to talk to and suggested I consider a sales position. I did and was granted an interview a week later at the Corona Office. I then met Kim and Diana, who asked some great questions, were professional, thorough, and a pleasure to speak to. They were open to my questions. I was hired and have been here about two months. I'm happy I chose Smith&Noble. The CEO, Ken, is often present and has a great relationship with employees. Christina, Kim, and Diana continue to be great leaders. I'm happy to be part of this fun, hard-working, team-oriented company and look forward to growing with it.
- What do you prioritize when working with a customer?
Sales Associate
First I spoke with a recruiter, then I had a conversation with a woman who has been with the company for almost 11 years. She wasn't in sales for very long before she moved into her current role. It felt like too many interviews for such a small company. If they had offered me the job, I would have declined.
- What would you do if you only got one lead in a week?
In Home Design Consultant
I talked with the regional sales manager about a job that would open up later. They explained the job and how the company works. The job wasn't going to be available for at least six months. Later, a new sales manager reached out for another interview, but I couldn't take a full-time job anymore.
- What is your experience in sales?
Human Resources
I went through a phone interview and then two in-person interviews. First, I talked to the hiring manager. After that, I met with two senior managers and the President. The questions were good and gave me a sense of the company culture. The whole thing took about a week and a half.
- Tell me about a situation where your direct supervisor gave you instructions that you believed were incorrect. What did you do?
