First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Smith & Loveless.
Drafter Designer
I had a one-on-one interview where they asked about my background and what I know about the subject they work on. They gave me a tour of the company, explained the work, and let me ask about what I'm looking for.
- What do you know about how a wastewater treatment system works?
Intern
I sent in my resume and got a call back within a week to set up an interview. I ended up talking to two different people. Since it was an internship, the focus was mostly on my academic stuff. It felt pretty friendly, but you know, that's all I can really speak to from an intern's perspective.
- Could you walk us through your background and any previous experience you have?
Environmental Engineer
So we basically dove straight into technical questions with a panel of interviewers. The whole thing was onsite and took about 2 hours. It wasn't too nerve-wracking, and the people interviewing me were really nice. The questions weren't super hard, though I had mostly prepared for behavioral interview questions.
- Can you describe some technical questions you were asked?
Applications Engineer
I went through two onsite interviews and one phone screening. The manager and the VP of the department both interviewed me one on one. Each interview was a bit over 45 minutes long.
- Can you share details about your past work experience?
- Do you have any questions regarding the role?
