First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Smith Commerce.
Project Manager
I had two initial phone interviews, one with the recruiter and another with the hiring manager. Then, I was invited for an in-person, round-robin interview with four people. Even though I had a prior commitment, they were accommodating and we found a new time. About two hours before the interview, one person dropped out, so the time got pushed back by half an hour. When the interview started, the first person seemed confused about being first. Then, the second interviewer arrived, who wasn't originally scheduled. He seemed disengaged, checking email and looking out the window. Finally, the third interviewer was unavailable, and I was basically told to leave. I don't know why, but I feel like I dodged a bullet based on what I heard about upper management's lack of vision.
- Be prepared to back up your resume with examples.
Account Manager
The interview process was super slow, but everyone was nice and fun to talk to. It started with a quick call with the recruiter, then a phone interview with a director. After a few weeks, I had two in-person interviews with the hiring manager and a coworker. A few weeks after that, they called to offer me the job. It was a comfortable process even though it took forever, and I felt like they wanted to hire me from the start but stretched it out to consider the client.
- Tell me about your existing relationships within the client's organization.
- Describe your strategy for increasing business with this client.
Administrative Assistant
it was good not so difficult it was clearly highly academic the questions were intellectual, academic, I was a little bit confused about, I had my own emotions because I'm a bit young in this sector and I think it's normal to be embarrassed on this interview.
- Tell me about your previous job.
- What was your last position?
- Where are you located?
Account Director
I interviewed for an Account Director role at Ascentium but didn't get the job. The recruitment stage was great, the recruiter was professional and informative, and I'm really interested in Ascentium's future path. I liked the offices and the people seemed passionate and smart. It's a great opportunity, and I hope to work there someday.
