It was a tough and long interview process, but it felt fair. You get to interact with a great team, so it's worth going through all the steps. There was a screening by the recruiter, then the hiring manager, followed by a meeting with the team, a platform demo, and finally a one-on-one with the regional manager.

Behavioral Technical Presentation Case

Smartly.io's interview process is challenging, as friends warned me. As a growing startup, they seek adaptable, quick learners, and the interviews are designed to test this. My prior experience as a Smartly.io customer was helpful. I entered the process late, so I had to speed through the steps, which was intense. Studying for this process is very time-consuming, making me wonder how parents manage. The process had 5 stages: 1. An initial HR call in Singapore to gauge fit – a casual chat, no heavy prep needed. Ask about the role and process to be informed. 2. A homework assignment involving a Facebook ad case study, requiring concrete suggestions. Prior FB ad experience is very beneficial, possibly essential. This took me a few days. 3. An on-site technical screen focusing on Facebook advertising knowledge, requiring detailed understanding of algorithms, bidding, and audiences. FB Blueprint is a good resource. I studied for a week to ensure I had current information. They want you to be pushed to where you don't know the answer; admit it rather than guess, showing a growth mindset. 4. A second on-site interview featuring a tool demo, which is where many candidates fail. I advise extensive hands-on practice with the platform, building campaigns and using optimization features. Focus on key features, link them to customer value (like bulk editing saving time), and frame it as a sales pitch, not a product training. 5. Reference checks leading to an offer. It was the toughest process I've experienced but gave a real feel for the role. The HR team was supportive, making me feel comfortable.

It was super tough. The first couple of interviews were easy, but the third one required some serious studying, like way more than usual. They hit you with a lot of technical questions about Facebook ads, and even though they gave you a basic outline, they asked stuff that wasn't on it. My advice if you think you studied enough... go back and study even more.
