Buyer
The interviewers were really nice and knew a lot about the company and answered everything I asked. They asked some basic questions and some that needed me to draw on my past experience to answer.
- What would be your approach to managing our current inventory?
Executive
The interview was face-to-face and started with me introducing myself. Then, it moved to information gathering, which only included hypothetical situations or dilemmas. It ended with a Q&A where my questions weren't answered. My suggestion as an HR professional is not to overemphasize 'cultural fit' because people can adapt.
- Could you define customer service excellence?
Locker Room Attendant
The interview was pretty easy, they asked typical questions based on your customer service experience, how you deal with conflict, and if you work well with others. They also asked if you are okay with standing for a long period of time.
- Tell me about your customer service skills.
- Can you work well with other people?
- Share an instance where you encountered a difficult situation.
Supervisor
It was a 2-on-1 interview focusing on my past experiences. The head manager gave me really conflicting information. He asked about my prior supervisory experience and I mentioned I managed an 8-person team, but he said it wasn't supervisory, even though 'supervisor' was in the title and description. He then inquired about my previous roles and their salaries. After I gave him a rough estimate, he claimed I was overpaid. At one point, he suggested hiring me as a Carte Associate first, with a possible promotion to Supervisor in 1-3 months. He finished by complimenting my resume. Totally confusing, right? They did invite me for a follow-up interview the very next day, which was last minute, but I turned it down.
- What is your motivation for joining Smarte Carte, and what qualifications do you bring to this role?
- Tell me about your previous supervisor experience.
- Can you describe your past job roles and the compensation you received?
