So I interviewed at Smartbridge, and it was not a good experience. The interviewer was really harsh and unprofessional. They kept telling me to "close my eyes" and "keep your head up" in a loud voice, which felt like I was being yelled at, not interviewed. An interview should be where we both talk and respect each other, but this felt more scary than anything. I hope they look at how they interview people and make sure candidates are treated right.

The interview started off great. The recruiter call was warm, and the hiring managers and a senior dev were really friendly. They asked scenario-based questions that covered pretty much everything, and I felt like I answered them all perfectly, even the ones they thought were tricky. I didn't hear back until I sent a follow-up email to the recruiter about a month later, and she told me I wasn't selected. It was a really bad experience, and I expected more given how things seemed at first. I have to admit, the whole team seemed to be of the same race, and I kind of felt they were looking for someone like them. Even though I was overqualified for the senior dev position, they still didn't choose me and didn't even bother to send an update.

The interview process consists of 4 stages. First, you'll do a one-way interview on SparkHire where you record yourself answering questions. You have 3 minutes to answer each question and 1 minute to think before you start. Then, there's a technical test with multiple-choice questions on programming and C#. After that, a phone call with recruitment to go over any questions you might have about the process. Finally, an in-person interview which will be a video interview.
