This was one of the most seamless interview processes I've experienced. Katie was excellent at keeping me updated and efficiently scheduling the subsequent interviews. Following my initial screening with Katie, I completed three additional interviews, all within a single week. The interviews were demanding yet invigorating, contributing to a positive overall experience.

A recruiter reached out, and after some scheduling, we had a phone call. It was a screening call where I briefly talked about my experience and goals. Soon after, the recruiter scheduled a call with the director of the SmartAdvisor program. The next week, the director and I had a similar conversation, where I shared my background and asked about the daily tasks, reporting structure, and team size. I also prepared for common interview questions. The recruiter then emailed to invite me to the office. SmartAsset was flexible with my availability for the in-person interview. The onsite interview was extensive, involving meetings with the recruiter, the director, the team manager, and 2-3 members of the Account Management team. I met with the manager, who discussed weekly one-on-ones, which interested me. The team seemed personable and engaged. I was asked standard questions and had ample time for my own inquiries. Given I met with multiple people sequentially, I repeated some answers, but the team was understanding and we also discussed everyday topics to assess cultural fit. A few days later, the director extended a job offer, which I accepted.

Behavioral Presentation

After applying via referral, it took over three weeks to get a response. The initial recruiter call was casual and lasted about 30 minutes. I quickly moved to the next stage, a 2-hour panel interview consisting of four separate 30-minute video calls. My referral mentioned the hiring manager was very impressed during the call. The interview itself felt very repetitive, like the same conversation happened four times in a row with no apparent coordination between interviewers. I was told I'd hear back by the end of the week as they needed to hire quickly. I sent thank-you notes to everyone. Over the next month, I followed up with the recruiter three times and finally received a generic rejection email. I asked for feedback since I was told the interview went well and they were excited about me, but never got a response.
