Had a quick chat with the recruiter. They were fast to respond and even offered an earlier interview slot. The questions were basic, but I was asked to demonstrate my code structuring. I heard back about the results in 2 days and moved on to the technical coding round. It was pretty tough because it had a time limit, but it was enjoyable. I appreciate them considering my application even though I don't have professional experience.

So HR reached out for the QA Manager role. We chatted a bit to get comfortable, then dove into the interview. HR went over what a QA manager does, like the main tasks and what a typical day looks like, stressing how important it is to hit quality standards, manage a team, and work with other departments to meet the company's quality goals. We then talked about how I'd be a good fit based on my skills and experience, and I shared examples of how I've successfully managed QA processes and led teams in the past. When HR asked if I had any questions, I realized they'd covered most of what I wanted to know. We finished up on a good note, with HR thanking me and me thanking them for the opportunity. I left with a clear idea of the job and what they're looking for.

Behavioral Technical Coding Presentation

It was a three-part process. First up was a behavioral chat, which was pretty easy. Then there was an online technical test where I had to share my screen and code. The task was to call a Google API and store the data in AWS DynamoDB. After that, I had my final interview with the CEO. He said they'd send a sample two-week project to check out before I started the actual work. But that project never came. I asked HR about it, and they mentioned a delay, but never got back to me, which was a bummer.

I applied online and totally missed their emails because they went to spam, but they were super persistent and sent a bunch of follow-ups which was great, and they still accommodated me for the interview. The person I spoke with asked some really good questions and was super clear about the whole process and the offer: it's as an Independent Contractor without benefits, but they said they'd adjust the salary to make up for it. I also met one of their heads who was very professional and upfront. Everyone I've met so far from the company has been really nice.
