Product Manager
This was a rude interview with someone on their phone or computer, no courtesy at all. Glad to have this experience early to see what kind of boss this recruiter could be.
- What feature would you add to WhatsApp for use on Mars?
Product Manager
The whole process took about 8 weeks, and I felt like I was always the one reaching out for updates. I only had 3 interviews across 2 months and got very little feedback after each stage. Honestly, it felt like I was ghosted most of the time, which was a really negative experience. I'd try to get feedback after interviews, but Smarsh would take like two weeks to respond. I actually had to say I was considering dropping out to get a response the next day. They rejected me after the last interview with a super generic email, no real feedback at all. Just a bad experience overall.
- What's prompting your job search?
Technical Product Manager
The interview process involved only one initial round with the interviewer. The call was quite brief, under 15 minutes, and felt very one-sided and impersonal. The recruiter seemed disengaged, lacking in-depth knowledge about the role beyond a basic job description. When I inquired about the role's background, its needs, or anything beyond the JD, they couldn't provide answers. There were extended silences where I had to prompt the interviewer to see if they had all the necessary information. Although I was interested in the job itself, the interview experience was disappointing. I received an email on Saturday morning stating I wasn't selected for a second round with the hiring manager, which was actually a relief as it didn't seem like the right fit.
