First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SM Investments.
Intern
HR reached out to set up an in-person meeting which included an HR interview right before the technical interview with the person who would be your manager. Following the interview, they'd send a congratulatory email detailing onboarding requirements.
- What's your approach to learning and using technologies you haven't encountered before?
Brand Manager
The process included an initial recruiter call where they provided context about job expectations and the company culture. This was followed by a great interview session, then a straightforward discussion with HR. They were honest and gave feedback throughout. Overall, it was a bit more traditional than expected, but they set expectations clearly ahead of time.
- Could you introduce yourself and explain your motivations for applying?
- Why are you a good fit for this position?
Travel Operations Coordinator
The interview was really hard for me, but I gave it my best shot to answer it well and make a good impression. I handle tough situations by being empathetic and really listening to people. For instance, when a customer wasn't happy with where they were staying, I set up a meeting to hear them out and then gave them a free upgrade. This fixed the problem and made our relationship even better.
- How do you make sure you hit your sales targets?
- Tell me about a time you had to deal with an urgent travel problem.
Accounting Assistant
The interview process is pretty straightforward. After you send in your resume, they'll call you, and then you'll get an invite for an on-site interview where you'll have to do some assessments. After that, they'll extend an offer and invite you back to chat with the department head and your future supervisor.
- Tell me about what motivates you.
- Since you don't have work experience, can you tell us some things about yourself?
