First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Slumberland.
Delivery Driver
The interview went great, the question wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. It went well for me. I was on time, but they weren't. I'm pretty sure the interviewer didn't remember my name because he said it wrong, and even after I corrected him, he didn't try to pronounce it correctly. That's when I knew I wasn't going to get the job.
- Have you driven anything as large as the delivery truck?
Sales Associate
The interview process itself was quite brief, but they offered really good training. Initially, the manager was super knowledgeable and professional, creating a positive atmosphere. However, things took a turn when an immature manager with poor people skills took over. This led to a really negative work environment where they expected everyone to do the work while they took the credit. This new manager lacked knowledge in both product training and people skills.
- What strengths do you possess that you can contribute to the company?
Marketing Manager
The interview process was a bit unclear since they were using both a recruiting firm and doing their own search for two positions. I had three video interviews (originally planned for two, but one person needed a separate meeting), and then a final in-person interview with the whole team plus HR. References were checked. The whole thing took about 4 weeks. The big team interview, with like 7 people, felt really promising; we even got a tour and everything seemed great. My only worry was that the manager didn't really have time to talk to me, just sort of said hi at the door. In the end, they hired someone they found themselves. It was annoying because I could have just applied directly. It makes you wonder why they'd hire a recruiting firm if they weren't going to pay their fee?
- Can you tell me what you know about Slumberland?
Human Resources Specialist
The interview process was pretty straightforward. I started with a phone call with the hiring manager, and then had two in-person interviews. The first in-person was with two team members, and the second one was with the hiring manager and the VP of HR.
- What draws you to the field of Risk Management?
