The hiring process was pretty standard. It involved a recruiter screen, then a chat with the hiring manager, and finally a meeting with the department head. It took about two months from the first interview to getting the offer. I think the HR team has gotten much better over the last 5-8 years, so the process is likely smoother now.

I spoke with their recruiter. During my background summary, she frequently interrupted me and appeared exasperated and dismissive throughout the entire interaction. She informed me about necessary tasks without allowing me to discuss my prior experience, and when she did inquire, she made me feel as though my responses lacked importance. A note for the recruiter: interviews aren't really about your personal preferences or assumptions. Cutting someone off when they're answering is impolite.

I got an email from the Talent Acquisition Manager and then we had a phone screen to talk more about the company and the job. After that, I went to the office in Franklin Park, IL for an in-person interview. I met a bunch of hiring managers from different departments, some HR people, and the Talent Acquisition Manager. The whole thing lasted about 4 hours. It was really well planned and everyone was nice. The Talent Acquisition Manager sent me an email before the interview with the schedule, times, and who I'd be meeting, which was super helpful for knowing what to expect. Everyone I met seemed to really like working at Sloan! So, I had a good experience overall.
