Accountant
It was tough, I had to prepare a lot of stuff and I was just getting out of college so I had no experience with accounting. I was upfront about my lack of experience and knowledge and I don't think I will get the job
- Tell me about your past work experience.
Accounting Compliance Testing Analyst
The phone interview was a typical one asking about experience and the position. Then, there was a personality assessment followed by 3 assessments (Excel and computation). I was told the hiring manager wanted to move forward and then a Zoom interview was scheduled. The day before, an email came letting me know the interview was cancelled as the position was filled. I know these things happen but it was pretty annoying. I wish they could have at least interviewed me. I didn't get a fair chance in the process.
- Regarding your Excel experience, what functions are you familiar with?
Marketing Director
I went through a pre-screen, then a two-question personality profile, and then I had a Zoom interview with three management team members that went really well. After that, I was asked to schedule a second and final meeting where I met another manager and was given an offer. However, after playing phone tag with the recruiter for four days to get offer details, she emailed to say they had selected another candidate. Looking back, this hiring process was audacious and probably signaled a reckless and non-transparent leadership approach that doesn't fit with my style. Job seekers should be wary of companies that don't treat candidates with integrity.
- Can you share your experience?
Account Manager
I applied online and a little while later got an invite to interview with HR. The interview was nice, but she did a lot of the talking and would explain my own answers back to me. The video meeting was glitchy and the sound was really bad. She mentioned other people had the same problem. Then I had a second interview with the hiring manager. He seemed arrogant and distant, and I got the impression he doesn't like working with older people. He also didn't seem very experienced. The meeting was glitchy again, which was weird because I never have that issue with other video software. Overall, the people involved in hiring, especially the hiring manager, gave me a bad impression of the company, especially with the ageism. I wouldn't want them managing my 401k or work for a company that uses Slavik401k.
- Can you tell me about your background?
