First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Slalom.
Talent Acquisition
A recruiter reached out about a TA leadership position a few months back. I mentioned I wasn't looking then but would be searching in early 2022. They followed up in January, which I thought was pretty cool, so I agreed to a video interview. It was a pretty decent call where I learned more about the role and answered some easy questions. They planned to discuss my profile with the hiring team two days later and asked about my availability for a second, 45-minute video interview the following week. But then, nothing. I know ghosting is common now, but I don't do that myself because I'm super organized and treat candidates like customers. Now I have a bad impression of this brand, which used to be positive.
- What's your availability for a follow-up 45-minute interview?
Talent Acquisition
The interview process with Slalom was a mix of chatting and getting into details, it was tough but covered everything. I spoke with 8 people in total from both local and national teams. The whole thing, from the first chat to the offer, took about a month. One part involved acting out a candidate call with a profile they gave me. The other parts were mostly about what drives you, your past experience, what you're looking for, and if you fit with their values. I liked that Slalom seemed as focused on making sure it was a good next step for my career as they were on checking if I fit the role and team. It was a tough process, as expected, but I came away with a pretty good idea of what working there would be like.

Recruiter
It was a fast process. A recruiter reached out on LinkedIn and we had a brief phone chat. She was excited about the company and really understood what I was looking for in a new job, and then I had an interview a few days later. I was a bit unclear on the exact role, though. I had a good talk with the hiring manager, who wanted to schedule more interviews for the next day. I met with three people individually. A week later, I met with five more people. The conversations were great, and everyone seemed really passionate about the company and its culture. They asked about my background, why I wanted to leave my current job, how I could contribute, and gave me plenty of time for my own questions. I did bring up a concern about career growth during the five-person meeting, which the hiring manager addressed, and then I got a verbal offer right away. I accepted within a few days because I was interviewing other places too.
- In what ways can you contribute to the company's success?
