First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Slalom.
Intern
The whole process took about a month from the first call to the final decision. It was very smooth. There was a call with a recruiter about basic behaviorals, and then the first and second round interviews with associates were also on basic behaviorals.
- Why are you interested in Slalom?
- Can you elaborate on your resume?
Intern
The interview process had 3 stages. First, a phone screen with a consultant from the division I would be interning for. They asked basic questions like walking through my resume and why I'm interested in Slalom. Second, technical questions with another team member, focusing on basic stats. Third, an in-person interview with leaders. The first two stages were fine, but the last one was super unprofessional. My first interviewer admitted they didn't know anything about me beforehand, making it awkward, and I had to come up with questions for 20 minutes which I wasn't expecting. My second interviewer was really rude. They were a different person than scheduled, which I wasn't told about. They kept cutting me off and making wrong assumptions before I could finish. Plus, they admitted they only recently found out about the internship. After the interviews, I didn't hear back from the recruiter or anyone else, and wasn't even walked out. When I found out I didn't get it and asked for feedback, they just said I lacked technical skills, even though they tested my technical skills in Round 2 and the questions were basic stats, not coding/ML. I figured if technical skills were the issue, I wouldn't have gotten past that stage.
- Can you explain what a p-value is?
- Could you define confidence intervals?
- How would you describe hypothesis testing?
Intern
My first round was with a really nice and positive interviewer. I felt like I answered everything correctly. The second round was harder, and I don't think it went as well. They asked a lot of detailed questions about my past work and projects, covering a range of difficulty. It was a good learning experience, though.
- Can you tell me about your experience with SQL?
- Do you have experience with Python?
- What do you know about Machine Learning?
