Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Slalom.
Tech Support Analyst
It was a pretty standard process for the Covid era, all done virtually. They really dug into my past experience and asked a bunch of questions about problem-solving and working remotely. Since I was referred, they also asked about my last job and my experience with the person who referred me, who now works there. Overall, it was a chill and calm interview.
- Can you share an instance where you encountered a challenge in technical support and how you handled it?

Analyst
I had a phone screen with a recruiter, then an in-person chat with a senior recruiter. After that, I met with a few senior team members in person. It was actually two interviews back-to-back with three people. The first one was about behavioral/cultural fit and how I'd deal with client scenarios. The second one was more about my technical skills and past experience. The recruiters were great and made the experience positive. They were nice, got back to me quickly after interviews, and gave me good info. I liked how they kept in touch and answered my questions during the process.
- Can you describe your technical background?
- Tell me about your past experience working collaboratively.
- How do you approach hypothetical client-related situations?
Analyst
I applied on their website, and about a month later, a recruiter reached out to schedule a phone screen. It was a straightforward chat about my resume and background. Then, I had a meeting with their lead recruiter, which was a very relaxed conversation where we discussed my experience and career goals. They also shared information about Slalom and its core values. The final stage involved three consecutive interviews with the team I'd potentially join. These interviews were conversational, focusing on my experience and how it aligns with the job responsibilities at Slalom, with a few unexpected questions thrown in. After these interviews, the recruiter mentioned a decision would be made within a week. However, it took over a month to hear back, even after I followed up multiple times with no response. By the time I got the update, I already knew I wasn't selected, but I was disappointed by the lack of a timely response and any constructive feedback when I asked for it. While the interviews themselves were fine, the post-interview process was quite off-putting.
- Can you walk me through your experience and explain how it relates to this role?
