Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Slack.
Sales Operations
The interview process for this Sales Ops role was quite drawn out, spanning over two months. It involved two phone screens, followed by five video calls, and included a take-home assignment. Ultimately, they decided to go with another candidate, stating my background didn't align with their needs, which felt like something that could have been determined much earlier given they had my resume. I felt like they were just stringing me along and didn't respect my time. While I understand they likely receive many applications due to the company's success, they could have communicated their decision to move forward with someone else much sooner, saving me a significant amount of time.
- What are your thoughts on revenue recognition questions?
Sales Representative
It was a 4 stage interview process. The recruiter was really helpful throughout. It included a take home test where I had to deal with a client scenario, and then a panel presentation with a few people who asked me similar questions.
- Can you share something from your career that you are particularly proud of?
Sales Head
I had a series of one-on-one chats, and then there was a panel interview and a presentation to wrap things up. The recruiting folks were super quick with updates. It was a pretty good vibe from start to finish!
- Can you walk me through your past experiences, starting from way back in high school and covering everything in between?
