First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Skytop Strategies.
Marketing Executive
The interviews at the company seemed promising initially, but the reality was different. I went through 5 interviews in total before being hired. I wouldn't recommend this company to a friend. The CEO presents a friendly image, but it's not genuine.
- Can you tell us about yourself?
- What are your expectations for this role?
- What qualities do you value in a team environment?
Sales Coordinator
I started with a recruiter screening call in Sept. 2020, which went well. A week later, I had a phone interview with the recruiter and two managers. Then I was asked to complete a two-page assessment that required thoughtful planning and strategy. In October, I had a call with the staff recruiter to discuss the assessment, and they said it was well-written and impressive. A few weeks later, I had my fourth call with the recruiter and CEO to discuss the position and the company's new office. They told me to reach out if I didn't hear back by the next Thursday. I emailed the CEO a thank-you message and followed up with the recruiter via email and voicemail multiple times, but got no response. After a month, I left a voicemail for one of the managers from the second call, but still heard nothing. I was left hanging for four months. They didn't even send a one-sentence email to let me know their decision. This was after four interviews with four staff members and a rigorous assessment that took an afternoon and was submitted before the deadline. I've since taken an inside sales position at a financial institution where I'm performing well and earning more. While I'm not solely motivated by compensation, my sales career has focused on meaningful subject matter like audience and relationship building for events and exploring business trends. Skytop may not care about losing me as an asset, but they lost my respect due to their unprofessional disregard for basic courtesy.
- Were there any non-standard interview questions asked?
Producer
I should have run for the exit after the first interview. The CEO was rude, trashed people who worked for him and took a personal call during our meeting. At one point I thought it was a prank.
- Are you able to handle stress?
- Can you manage a very strict database?
Administrator
The interview process was really quick. First, I had an on-site meeting with the CEO and other C-level executives, which went well and included a salary discussion. They seemed to really like my experience and asked about my availability to join. After that, they took about 2-3 weeks to get back to me, but unfortunately, I received a rejection after only a few days. It was quite disappointing.
- Did you have any unexpected questions?
