First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Skyriver IT.
Field Service Technician
I was called multiple times by HR before they set up the interview and once it was set up, the HR person called me to ask if I was joining the Teams chat. During the teams chat I spoke with 4 different people who asked me a lot of technical questions and some abstract questions.
- What makes you want to work at Sky River IT?
- Given a PC that cannot connect to the internet, what are your troubleshooting steps?
- Can you describe a negative or adverse customer experience you've had?
Virtual CIO
I talked to HR first, and it was a nice chat to get started. She asked about my background, and she was really nice. She said it sounded like a good match and set up another interview with herself, the CIO, and the CEO. When it was time for that interview, the CEO did all the talking. He didn't care about my skills or my work experience in the role for the past 3+ years. Instead, he asked about the MSP CEOs I worked with and wanted to know 'what they were like 'managing their companies.' Towards the end, I got to ask two questions. He said he expects people to 'drink from a fire hose' daily. Even though I was laid off because of COVID-19, he told me I was in the 'bottom 20% of employees.' This is completely false and doesn't reflect any reasonable decision-making during a pandemic. He then said I had 30 minutes to impress him and he would make his decision based on that. Very rude and matches other reviews I've seen.
- Tell me about your motivation for applying to this position.
- Describe your experience working with MSP CEOs and how they managed their companies.
- What are your expectations for a typical day in this role?
Software Engineer
I had an interview and got hired, but then they ghosted me. I tried to set up a video call to ask them questions about the job, but they never responded. I also tried emailing them through their website, but still no response. It was very unprofessional.
- What's a major challenge you foresee working remotely and how would you handle it?
- How do you manage to meet demanding deadlines?
- Can you share an instance where you performed exceptionally well under pressure?
