First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Skydio.
Software Engineer
You'll start with an at-home coding project. This involves fetching data from openstreetmap, plotting it, and then creating a distribution plan. After that, there's a 1-on-1 chat with an engineer where you'll discuss the technical aspects of a project you've done.
- Can you provide technical details about a project you worked on?
Software Engineer
Had some technical coding interviews, mostly leetcode style questions, and recruiter calls first. Then a long virtual onsite with a presentation and about 4-5 technical/systems design interviews. Got to see the team and product demos.
- Technical interviews mostly involved algorithms questions, probably in the leetcode easy to medium difficulty.
- The onsite included system design questions.
- The onsite also included data modeling questions.
Software Engineer
The interview process involved a phone screen with live coding and system design. Then, an onsite interview included a PowerPoint presentation, another live coding session, and a system design challenge. A third onsite interview consisted of live coding and data modeling interviews. Out of five companies applied to, this was the only one that did not offer a position and required the most time. If you are willing to risk 10+ hours for this process, proceed. Otherwise, I strongly advise against this company as they will waste your time.
- What are the typical questions asked in interviews?
