First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Skip of New York.
Trainer
After applying online, I heard back about 3 to 4 weeks later for an interview. I went in and met my direct supervisor for about 45 minutes. This was followed by a computer test where I had to draft an email, which was pretty straightforward if you use computers often at home. Then, I was asked to come back for a presentation in front of the director and about three other staff members. They gave me a topic and I had to give a 20-minute presentation. I made a PowerPoint and some handouts, emailed them, and they photocopied the handouts for me.
- Can you share your experience with training?
Receptionist
I talked to HR who seemed really nice, and they explained the job and asked me a few questions. They might give you a tour of the office afterwards. They also explained what the company does and how they manage their cases. But, I didn't think they were that good at getting the kids with disabilities the things they need.
- How would working here benefit the company?
Service Coordinator
The interview had two parts, an oral interview and then a written one. The written part had about four steps, and I found one of the steps pretty tough because I don't have much experience in this area.
- Can you share an instance where you observed unethical behavior from a colleague and describe your reaction?
- What motivates your interest in joining SKIP of New York?
- Could you discuss your key strengths and areas where you see room for improvement?
QA Engineer
Met with two supervisors for an initial discussion. They asked some basic questions. Following that, I was given a 'quiz' to complete, which involved identifying key information. After submitting the quiz, I was sent home to await further contact. The interview process felt okay overall.
- How do you work with consumers.
