First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Skills.
Production
It was a fast, short, and direct interview process. They were willing to train me even though I had no prior experience. They asked about my learning and communication style, which was a unique question for me, but I appreciated it.
- How do you learn new things?
- What is your preferred method of communication?
- Can you demonstrate your ability to pick up new processes?
Consultant
The recruitment process is quick, all communication is via email or phone. On-site, the atmosphere is young and relaxed, but the recruiters are demanding and qualified.
- Tell me about your background.
- What are your motivations?
- What are your salary expectations?
Quality Manager
I saw an ad on Craigslist about a month back and applied online. After about 10 days, I had an interview with the QA Director. This was after an initial phone call with someone from HR who told me to apply online.
- Tell me about your personal relationships.
- How do you feel about your team members?
- How is your communication style with your team?
Human Resources
I went through 3 interview rounds. First was a 1 on 1, then a 1 on 2, and finally an informal panel. The questions were pretty standard and open-ended, but they really wanted genuine answers. As a seasoned HR pro, I felt like the department was totally revamped and they needed someone who was okay with getting into the nitty-gritty of things.
- Can you describe your understanding of FMLA, ADA, and employment law?
