UX/UI Designer
Recruiters were not clear about their requirements. It's a bit odd they wouldn't share the budget or pay range for the role. If they want to know my previous salary, I think it's only fair I get to know the budget for the job too.
- Why is the budget or pay range for the position being hired for kept hidden?
- Since you as a recruiter are eager to know my last CTC, I am also keen to see the budget for the position you are hiring for.
- Let's keep things Fair and Simple.
HR Manager
So the process was alright, could have been more communicative. Got an email for an intake interview over the phone, then a phone chat with a recruiter, and then a video call with the hiring manager. A bit weirdly, they sent a personality test before the first intake call. Since I hadn't heard anything else, I thought it was spam. But the recruiter called to ask about it, and that's when I knew it was legit.
- Can you walk me through your background and experience?
Marketing Manager
I was reached out to by a recruiter, we talked about my experience and I was selected to move on. Next, I had a video call with a VP. It was a standard chat about the role and my background. The VP mentioned they give out 'personality tests' to potential hires, and I asked jokingly what personality type they looked for. She said it's just to figure out how to best work with different people and doesn't affect hiring. A few days later, I got an email saying I was moving forward and to take a 'personality quiz'. It was a free online test, and I had to send them the results. I took the test, which had nothing to do with the job, and shared my 'personality type'. After that, they ghosted me, not even a rejection email. I followed up with the recruiter a few days later, and they also blew me off. So, be aware, even if you're qualified, they might reject you based on an online quiz result. It was shocking and unprofessional. I'd suggest picking an extroverted 'business' personality if you get to that stage. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth.
- Is there anything you'd like to tell us that's not on your resume?
Healthcare Recruiter
I was first contacted by the Talent Acquisition Team, who then set up a call with the Director of Talent Acquisition. We discussed my background, and then I had a Skype interview with Charmaine (VP). She asked general questions about my past work and specific questions about nursing roles, clients I've worked with, why I'm looking for a new job, and my strategies for finding and recruiting nurses.
- Can you tell me about your previous experience?
- Why are you looking to change jobs?
- How do you go about recruiting?
