The interview process was casual. I was interviewed by two people who oversee the internship program and it was more of a conversation than an interview. Overall a simple process.

It was pretty straightforward. First, I had a chat with a recruiter or hiring manager. Then, for the second interview, I had to present a social media project to a hiring manager and someone who's currently a Social Media Manager.

I applied online and got an email the next day for a video interview with HR. We had that call the next day and the questions were pretty simple and generic. The video interview felt pretty casual and comfortable, so when the interviewer mentioned they had a test they wanted me to take to confirm I had the skills, I didn't worry about it too much. I realized after I didn't get the job that the test was actually really strict and not a simple pass or fail like I thought. I had less than one business day to come up with a concept, put a scene together, edit the image, and also retouch a RAW image they sent and create a stop-motion animation video. With such a tight deadline and juggling other professional work I already had going on, I was really surprised and disappointed by the feedback I got on my test. I figured out then they were looking for perfection, not just checking for skills. I'm not too bummed about not getting an offer, as it shows me they have unclear and very high expectations.

So this company gave me a 2-part test before we even talked. The creative director emailed to schedule, and I didn't get back to them for 2 hours. Then the CEO DMed me on LinkedIn telling me to respond ASAP. I had to schedule the interview for that same day. The CEO seemed toxic, but everyone else was nice.
