First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sinopec.
Treasury Analyst
The interview process was pretty standard, with straightforward questions. I did notice that response times were a bit slow. The people there were super friendly and the office environment seemed really nice. Since it's located in a busy part of Houston, I expected traffic to be a factor.
- Can you tell me about your current knowledge and how it applies to this role?
Operations
The interviewers were nice. It felt like just chatting with them and the interviews were fast, less than an hour. They were also willing to interview you after work hours and they respect you.
- Tell me about your past jobs.
Graduate Engineer
The interview process has three rounds. First round is in Wan Chai with 3 managers, they will assess your technical skills, experience, and role fit. No HR involved. Second round is at Tsing Yi Oil Depot, managers will assess your operational knowledge and site-specific challenges. Still no HR. The final round is with the HR team and a director. They will assess your cultural fit, alignment with company values, and strategic goals. This 'hush round' sounds like a confidential discussion, possibly with final negotiations. Be well-prepared by understanding the company's operations and values, and be ready to discuss your contributions and alignment with the company's vision.
- Tell me what makes you a strong candidate for this position.
Electrical Engineer
I had a telephone interview with some behavioral questions. Then, an onsite interview where I spoke with HR, a senior engineer, and the group leader. There were no technical questions. I received an offer a week later and they promised to provide accommodation and a meal plan. Three of us got offers.
- Why are you interested in this role?
- Convince me why I should extend an offer to you.
