Recruiter reached out via phone and email the day after I applied. They asked me to complete an online technical assessment that included multiple-choice questions on Spring Boot, MongoDB, etc., and a coding challenge. After I finished the test, I had a virtual interview with the hiring manager and a senior software engineer to assess my technical skills and behavioral fit. The recruiter followed up quickly to discuss the salary. The whole process was easy and quick, but I had to decline the offer since the compensation wasn't what I expected.

So I had this interview with a senior executive, and it felt really serious, like they were really considering me. But then, nothing for 22 days. When I nudged them, they told me I didn't make it to the next round. Funny thing is, my first interview was already with a C-level exec, so I'm still wondering who does the 'second round'. Plus, my application still says 'Interviewing', and they reposted the job with a new date. Honestly, they need to be more upfront about their hiring process, stick to their timelines, and just be more consistent. For this kind of role, it was surprisingly unprofessional how unclear everything was.

The recruiter called me out of the blue one day and after a brief 2-3 minute chat, she said she needed more details and it would take about 30 minutes. She asked if I was free to talk right then. I was in the middle of something at the office and asked if we could talk later. She surprisingly said 'no', it had to be then or never. This was the very first contact and a major red flag for me. A few days later, I got a coding test. It was pretty easy and reasonable, not taking too much time. I finished it and sent it back. I never heard back, even after I followed up. It's basic courtesy to give feedback when someone spends two days on an assignment. From the start, the recruiter acted like she was doing me a huge favor, which is very different from how other companies operate.
