Sales Enablement Marketing Associate
I had 2 short phone interviews that were about 15 minutes each. After those, I had one longer in-person interview that was 2 hours long. I met the 3 people I would be working with if I got the job. The interview questions were pretty easy and straightforward, nothing unexpected came up since I practiced my answers and researched the interviewers beforehand. There was one skills test where I had to analyze data, create a PowerPoint, and then give a talking script for a sales team member to use in a scenario I'd likely face on the job.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
- Could you describe your previous work experiences?
- What makes you believe you are a suitable candidate for this position?
Software Engineer
The interview process started with a phone screening. The interviewer seemed confused by my project description, even though others have found it impressive. She stated I wasn't a good fit due to not understanding my work. Following that, she asked some basic algorithmic questions, which I solved with O(n) time complexity. However, she dismissed my solution, calling it a trick and incorrect. Throughout the call, she repeatedly suggested I wasn't a good fit, making me feel like the interview was just a formality. It felt like a waste of time for both of us.
- Could you tell me about the project you are currently working on?
- The interviewer asked about my current project and stated she didn't understand my work and strengths and that I wasn't a good fit for the position.
- She then proceeded to ask me a few basic algorithmic questions that I was able to solve with O(n) time complexity.
Content Solution Engineer
Applied online and got an email from a recruiter about a phone interview. We scheduled it with the hiring manager for Wednesday. The hiring manager called on time and asked some tough technical questions that I couldn't answer. He also went over my resume. After the interview, he wanted to schedule an on-site for Thursday or Friday, but I couldn't because I was going on vacation. He mentioned they might hire someone before I got back. I was only in Hawaii for a week and then reached out to the recruiter. Simply Hired decided not to schedule another on-site because they went with another candidate who was already in the process. It's been about a month and the job is still posted.
- Can you explain the fundamental principles of Object-Oriented Programming?
Linux Systems Administrator
I had two phone interviews. First, a quick one with the recruiter. Then, a longer one with the hiring manager where we talked about the role's past and future. The in-person interview involved the current contractor for the position and the hiring manager. The contractor was 20 minutes late, and then the manager made me wait another 10 before they both arrived.
