First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Simpay.
Technical Support Specialist
HR screens you, then a Predictive Index test, then hiring manager interview. Screening tests basic qualifications. Final interview has some situational questions, but nothing spectacular. Customer skills more important the tech skils.
- Tell me about how you handle an irate caller.
Sales Account Executive
The interview with Simpay went well, although scheduling took some time. The phone interview was brief and felt more like a discussion about the manager's role and Simpay's strengths than a formal interview. The overall process involved an online application, a 30-minute call with my potential supervisor, and an in-person interview. I withdrew my application after the in-person interview because the position was entirely commission-based, which I wasn't comfortable with.
- Why are you interested in working here?
- Can you describe your experience in frontline sales?
Help Desk Technician
So first thing, I had to do two tests, like an assessment. And then right after that, they asked me for a phone interview the very next day. It was supposed to be at 11 am with the HR manager. The call was a few minutes late, which is fine. But then my phone had some weird issue, and I couldn't answer it. The manager left a message saying she could talk until 11:45 and gave me a number to call back. When I called back, it wasn't her direct line, it was the main company number. I had to ask someone from the credit card department to transfer me to her voicemail. I left a message explaining and also emailed another HR person to see if we could do the interview the next day at the same time. After all that, I never heard back. It was really unprofessional. I wouldn't want to work there or do business with them.
- I didn't get to ask any questions.
Software Engineer
Recruiter reached out and did an initial screening. They were interested in moving forward to a technical interview with the head of software. During the technical interview, they didn't ask typical questions but instead went through my resume and asked about specific accomplishments like how I did "X" at my job "Y". After that, I was ghosted by both the recruiter and the head of software, despite reaching out to them. It seems I wasn't deemed worthy of a response.
- How was your experience managing work while remote?
- Can you describe how you accomplished X in your previous role Y?
