First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at SimilarWeb.
Sales
The process was really quick and easy. First, I sent an email explaining my interest in SimilarWeb and this specific role. Then, there was a screen call with HR, followed by interviews with the Hiring managers. After that, I had to do an assignment presentation where I discussed questions I'd ask to qualify a prospect. Finally, I interviewed with a senior director and then had one last HR interview.
- What are your 5-year career aspirations?
- When it comes to teamwork, are you more inclined to lead or follow?
- Describe a past failure and the lessons you gained from it.
Sales Lead
It was a long interview process with 6 interviews and a home assignment. The process felt repetitive and lacked transparency. They dragged me through the whole process, which took over a month and required significant effort from my side. Throughout the process, they made me feel like I was doing great and that they were very impressed. Ultimately, they didn't extend an offer due to a very strange reason, and the reason for rejection was never brought up in our 6 interviews. Because of these reasons and more, I found the process and hiring team to be extremely unprofessional and disappointing.
- Can you tell me about your leadership style?
Sales
I applied online and had a quick 15-minute recruiter call. The recruiter shared their salary, which was pretty low for SaaS sales, so I told them I wouldn't move forward unless they could offer a specific amount. They got back to me later that day and agreed to my requested salary because of my experience. I then interviewed with the hiring manager and another sales rep. The interview was pleasant, and the hiring manager asked some good questions, while the other sales person didn't say much. The hiring manager then said I'd move on to a presentation stage and that I'd get details via email. After waiting 5 days and following up, the recruiter informed me I wasn't invited to the presentation and gave no feedback. My requests to speak to the hiring manager were ignored. This is a really unprofessional way to treat candidates, especially being promised the next stage and then being told it's canceled with no explanation. My advice to other sales professionals is to steer clear of this company.
- What makes you want to work for this company?
