I applied through their company site and heard back for a phone interview pretty quickly, like 2 days later. But before that, I had to complete a pretty long questionnaire. After I finished that, I had the phone interview, which went well, and they then invited me in for an in-person interview. The thing that really turned me off though was that they require you to do an RPNow pre-employment assessment. You have to download software to scan your room for other electronics and it takes 2 hours. I thought that was a ridiculous requirement and it made me decide not to pursue the job with Silgan.

After submitting 4 applications and 4 resumes over several years, I finally got a call for an interview. The call came months after my last application. The interview included the plant manager, superintendent, and assistant superintendent, which was a bit intimidating. About a week later, I was asked to complete a drug test and a physical, which took about 5 hours and was very vigorous. Another week passed before I received a job offer, and I started about a week after that.

Had a good conversation with the interviewer, who was knowledgeable and engaging. They asked relevant questions and quickly identified potential misalignments. The interviewer was polite and professional when I informed them that it wasn't a position I would continue to pursue, and I thought they handled it very well.
