It was a pretty straightforward interview process. They asked about my experience in solar, my approach to managing a team, and my flexibility with changes. I heard back within a week.

I applied online and got an email response in about a week. It was a short email asking for my salary expectations. I replied that I wanted to know more about the role before giving a number. The hiring manager got my application and we scheduled a call. She called me on time and we talked for about ten minutes about the job duties. The role was unclear, so I asked about the current dealer network and what the department wanted to achieve with this role. She often said 'I don't know' or 'I'll get back to you', which was concerning because she would be my direct manager. She seemed more focused on my salary request than my background. She really pushed the salary question. We ended the call with her saying she'd follow up in a week. A week passed with no word. So, I called her mid-next week to check on my application status. She mentioned they had more interviews but would update me in a few days. Another week passed. I was still interested because I had experience managing contractors and dealers. I followed up again after another week. She answered and said she was glad to hear from me. I confirmed their interest, and she said yes and that she'd follow up. She didn't apologize for the delay or ghosting me. About two hours later, I got a generic email saying they were moving on with other candidates. I feel like hiring for this role wasn't a priority for her, and maybe my not giving a salary upfront hurt me. But I think leading candidates on with false timelines is unprofessional.

The interview process was standard and acceptable, nothing out of the ordinary. Everyone was very welcoming and encouraging. I'd recommend this process to anyone.
