I went through an interview process for a Receptionist role. It started with a call from a staffing agency, which was really helpful. Then, I had interviews where they asked me about my background and how I help customers. They also asked questions about customer service, focusing on how I handle upset customers and keep my schedule organized.

So, I got referred by an employee and then the interview process kicked off about a week later. It was structured with five 1:1 technical interviews, each lasting about 45 minutes, and then two 1:1 behavioral interviews that were each half an hour. The technical parts were pretty tough, while the behavioral ones felt a bit more relaxed. The technical director, in particular, seemed to really challenge candidates. Definitely need to be well-prepared before heading into this.

Had a phone interview and then an on-site. The phone call was with the manager, and it wasn't really about coding, but more about my knowledge of audio/video firmware. The on-site was a mix of programming tasks and questions about audio/video/image coding. I spoke with about 3 or 4 technical folks and also an HR person and a VP. The questions weren't super tough. The whole thing was scheduled and decided pretty fast.

Confirmed questions5 questions
  • Asked general C-coding and questions about audio/video/image codecs.
  • Asked to implement a stack.
  • Asked about endian swap.

They reached out to me and asked if I was more interested in a software or hardware engineer role. I had a technical interview with a random software engineer which didn't go so well because the questions got really vague. He wanted me to discuss JTAG probes and setting up GUIs. I ended up choosing the hardware role.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • Can you explain the working principle of a JTAG probe?
