First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sigma Beauty.
Email Marketing Specialist
The whole interview process took about 6 weeks. It kicked off with an HR screening, as expected. Then, about a week later, I had my first in-person interview. Around 3 weeks after that, I went back for a second round, which also included presenting a project I'd been assigned. Finally, two weeks after that, they let me know I didn't get the job.
- Can you share your background with me on developing email campaigns?
Account Manager
I sent in my resume through the company's website and someone reached out via email to schedule an initial interview at their office. When I got there, I found out I'd actually be meeting with 5 interviewers simultaneously. The first 4 came in over 10-15 minutes and just sat there quietly. Then the 5th interviewer arrived, sat down, crossed her legs, leaned back and asked, "So..I just have to ask, did you apply for this job because you think you will get free makeup?" I, not wearing any makeup, replied, "Umm, no...I applied for the job because I wanted to work for the company, but I am thinking based on this question that this would not be a good fit for me". It was not an organized or professional interview at all, I can tell you if you walk in accusing people of having negative intentions for applying for a job you are not going to find or hire the right people. I can not see a positive or constructive reason from asking anyone a question like that.
- Is the reason you applied for this job because you think you'll get free makeup?
Business Development
I applied and got an interview maybe a week later. I was super excited because I love the company and their products. They were really busy so my interview was about a week later. The person who set up my interview sent me the wrong day and time so when I showed up they weren't really expecting me which was a little off-putting. They made it seem like it was my fault, which was really unfair. I spoke with one girl and it seemed like she had no idea about what the role was. It was a very short interview. I never got a callback, follow up or an apology for sending me the wrong information.
- Can you tell me what you know about Sigma?
Account Executive
It wasn't much. Pretty simple. It was a 2 round interview, one on zoom and one in person. Didn't like that you had to go into the office every day.
- How do you handle multitasking?
