Got a call initially which was really emotional, they were curious about my spiritual journey. Then I went in for an onsite interview that was long, like 6-8 hours. It was a really welcoming environment, felt like I was a perfect fit. The rejection was tough though because they were looking for someone who could also be a spiritual leader for the costume team, and I guess the other person was a better fit for that specific role.

The hiring process took over two months, likely due to Covid-19 issues. I applied online and then had a first phone interview that lasted about 30 minutes. After that, I moved on to a second interview with three people. This interview was more focused on the specific duties of the job rather than a general 'get-to-know-you' type of conversation. It lasted for about an hour. They initially said I'd hear back within 10 days about whether I got the job, but they never called. I had to call them to get an answer. Turns out, they had re-hired a previously furloughed stage tech and offered me a spot on their files for the next season if they needed stage techs. I wasn't too upset, but it was annoying that they didn't call me back with an update, especially since finding jobs post-Covid has been tough.

It's a pretty long interview process...it takes weeks between submitting your application, setting up and doing a PHONE interview, and then also setting up and doing an ON-SITE interview. The vibe during the interviews is usually calm and relaxing. Typically, there will be about three people from the department you're interviewing for, plus someone from HR.

The hiring process stretched over a month, beginning with email correspondence. This was followed by a phone interview, with a significant waiting period between stages. I was asked about my spiritual journey, which I anticipated. Weeks after the interview, I received a standard rejection email. I tried asking for feedback multiple times but received no response. It was a disappointing experience, especially coming from a Christian organization.
