Business Development Associate
Interviewing here was pretty easy, I will give Veriship props because they were very efficient in how they handled the process. I heard back very quick on the times. I was interested in Veriship because one of my colleagues works there in a different department, and has raved about the company and their culture. The first interview was a very pleasant experience and seemed to be in line with what he had always talked about. I had the first interview with the head of the sales department and it was very professional and insightful. We had a good chat and it was clearly outlined what the roles and responsibilities of the job were, and all my questions and concerns were answered about the role. I was really impressed so we mutually agreed to move to the second interview which is with the Sales team leads I'd be reporting to if I got the position. This is where the interview process became negative for me. The second part of the interview I would say was a mediocre/bad experience. It was on video chat with the two sales leads, however only one of them appeared on the camera while the other sat out of sight. I assume this was due to social distancing issues with Covid. Nevertheless it made part of the interview very impersonal and odd that I was the only one on camera when talking to one of the leads. The leads gave me the vibe that they were not interested in interviewing me and made me felt like I was just a bother and wasting their time because I was applying for this entry level position which was outside my normal line of work. They were not really interested in talking about my professional background or what skills I brought to the table, more so what I wanted to do later on in life or more personal life questions. Midway through the interview, one of the leads (the one off of camera who was silent a majority of the time) decided to jump in and it felt like I was getting interrogated for committing a crime. I was asked repeatedly why I wanted to try sales instead of continue in my current field, which I explained to them I was wanting to take my career in a different direction and learn something new which is why I applied for an entry level role. I understand this may be part of their process for their department to see how people handle pressure, but it came off disrespectful and made me think they were insulted at me for being interested in what they do and interviewing for a position. A red flag for me too was when I asked them questions towards the end about the company and what they liked the most about working there. One of the leads was very insightful about why they love their job and had true passion, the other one only said "unlimited PTO" which was a little alarming because when compared to the other lead it came off like they didn't really care for their job. The biggest turn off in the interview was a question they asked me that was pretty silly and lighthearted, which I assumed was supposed to be for fun. However, it led to one of the leads implying that I might be interested in pedophilia as a joke. It was extremely awkward and I didn't really know how to respond to that but nervously laugh. I can say I've never experienced that sort of unprofessionalism in my entire career when I've interviewed for a job.

Python Developer
First, I had a phone chat where they asked me some initial questions. It went well. After that, I was given a coding exercise to complete within a few days. I sent back my code, which was fully tested and documented, but they told me it wasn't good enough and they'd proceed with other candidates. This surprised me because my code was clean and working. I figured maybe they wanted more comments, a different style, or I misunderstood the requirements. So, I said I understood and asked for specific feedback to help me improve for future applications, as I couldn't find any obvious issues with my code. They mentioned they'd check with the engineer who reviewed it but never got back to me. I followed up two weeks later, but still no reply. At this point, I strongly suspect the exercise was actually work they needed done, and they never intended to hire anyone for it, essentially getting free labor. Even if I'm wrong about that, not providing feedback is a problem.

Content Strategist
The interview process was timely and friendly. The VeriShip hiring manager really cared about finding the best person for the role in a good timeframe, not just making a quick hire. I got to talk to as many people as I needed to make sure it was the right move for my career and family. It was clear VeriShip also wanted the most experienced person who would fit well with the team. This was one of the best recruiting experiences I've had in my 20+ years of working.
- Can you share your experience and how it connects with our company's objectives and plan?
- What are VeriShip's objectives and plan?
- How does this opportunity align with your career aspirations and personal life?
Sales Development Representative
The interview process is pretty simple and straightforward. They're really looking for individuals who are driven and eager to achieve significant financial success. You need to demonstrate that you're competitive, adaptable to change, and receptive to coaching and development within the role. If you're too arrogant and can't learn from others, you probably won't do well here.
- What motivates your desire to pursue a career in sales?
