Software Engineer
The recruiters reached out on LinkedIn, and it seems many employees came from Twilio and Microsoft, some even before Twilio's IPO. There were two phone interviews. The second one was with a junior employee who seemed new to the role, asking a standard set of questions. The interview style felt a bit like Microsoft's, with an air of superiority. The recruiters were quite persistent in trying to schedule interviews, but kept having to reschedule because their interviewers were busy prepping for Microsoft interview questions.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What occurred at your prior workplace?
- What was the reason for your lack of success?
Software Engineer
The interview process started with a tech screen that had a LeetCode style question. After that, there was a virtual onsite which included Coding, System Design, a Deep Dive, and Behavioral rounds. In one of the virtual onsite rounds, the interviewer had to leave for about 5-10 minutes, which cut into my time to solve the problem. I felt this was unfair and out of my control, and I think the reduced time impacted my performance compared to other candidates. The hiring manager mentioned that 'offshore employees typically outperform the onshore employees', which I found really off-putting and made me question if I wanted to work there given a potential bias towards one group over the other.
- An easy LeetCode question was asked during the technical screen.
- A medium to hard LeetCode style question was asked.
- Design a simple version of StubHub using coding.
Software Engineer
Recruiter behavioral screen, then a tech screen with a coding question for 1 hour. After that, a virtual onsite with 3 technical rounds and 1 hiring manager discussion, all about 1 hour each. Then a leadership round with more interviews with leadership, which is highly variable.
