First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sierra Nevada Corporation.
Program Manager
I had a phone interview with an HR rep first, then a phone interview with the supervisor for the position, then an in-person panel interview with 5 team members. Everyone I interacted with was professional and pleasant. Responses after each interview came reasonably quickly.
- Tell me about your experience working with government contracts and processes.
Program Manager
A contact helped me get started with the application. I was contacted within two days of submitting my application and resume. The initial interview was about a week later, followed by a hiring interview via webcam and phone about three weeks after that. A delay occurred in figuring out how to conduct the interview since I was not in the continental US. Normally, a third interview might be on-site, but I couldn't do that as I was OCONUS. I got initial clearance and drug testing paperwork about a week later. Negotiating the verbal offer took another 1-2 weeks, and the written offer came 1-2 weeks after that. The whole process took about 5-6 weeks.
- Were you asked typical program management questions, and were they difficult or unexpected?
Program Manager
The interview process took over 2 months with interruptions. Different coordinators gave conflicting info, and they were inflexible while expecting me to be adaptable. This experience might not reflect the actual work environment at SNC, as candidates can't tell. SNC should improve their recruiting and HR processes for a better candidate experience.
- Can you share an instance where you dealt with people who were not responsive?
