First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sierra Nevada Corporation.
Project Engineer
It kicked off with a 30-minute HR call, where the flexibility they mentioned didn't quite match up with what the hiring manager later proposed. Then came a 1-hour phone interview. After that, they flew me out for a 1-hour interview at their facility, though there was no campus tour and the conference room was in the lobby, so you couldn't really get a feel for the place. The questions were pretty straightforward for someone with experience in hiring and leadership.
- What makes you interested in SNC?
Engineer
Started with a phone screen with the recruiter. Then had a group phone interview with the hiring manager, team members, and the team lead. After that, there was an in-person group interview on site. The HR person talked to me for about half an hour. A group of 4 team members then spent an hour discussing the position and asking me questions. The questions were about my leadership experience, my definition of leadership, defining the job, and my experience.
- How do you define a leader?
- How would you define leadership?
- What do you think defines this job?
Engineer
The interview process was pretty standard. I was expecting three interviewers, but only one showed up even after we rescheduled. This interviewer also didn't seem very engaged or interested. Despite that, I felt the interview went well and I had a good shot at an offer. However, it seems they are very selective and perhaps too unwilling to train candidates on their specific software, which is a shame if you're not a perfect match from the start.
