Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sierra Nevada Corporation.
Electrical Engineer
First, there was a phone call, then an in-person panel interview. About 6 people were interviewing me. They asked about my past work and also technical questions about aviation and electrical loads analysis.
- Could you explain what an electrical loads analysis entails and share your experience with it?
Electrical Engineer
I had a 30-minute phone call with some of the technical staff. They were really nice and seemed enthusiastic about what they're doing. They asked me about my past experience and what I knew about the specific project team I'd be working with, as well as the company, SNC, in general.
- Can you tell me about your experience?
- What is your understanding of the project team?
- What do you know about SNC overall?
Electrical Engineer
First, I had a recruiter or HR phone screen. They asked about my work authorizations and if I lived around Folsom, California. Then, they set up the next phone interviews with Collin Smith, Jasen Murphy, and Ben Harding. They seemed to be looking for a recent grad who could answer all those in-school class questions about FPGA.
- Do you know the FPGA and VHDL programming process?
- It's like studying your subjects back in school, they want to know characteristics, types, and process (like block diagrams) and more like test questions during school time. Can you elaborate?
