First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Siena College.
Program Director
I had two zoom interviews. The first one was with a panel of VISTAs. One of them was also applying for the same position and in my opinion, should not have been allowed to participate in the interview. The second interview was with HR.
- Regarding the challenges VISTAs face, what do you consider the most significant one, and how would you assist them in overcoming it?
Assistant Director
It was a three-part Zoom interview process. First, there was an hour-long meeting with the department staff. Then, another hour-long meeting with those who would be working under my management, though they couldn't address questions about upper management. Finally, there was an interview with HR.
- Can you share an instance where... (S.T.A.R. method)?
- Describe your approach to management.
- What are your key priorities?
Contract Administrator
I had an interview with the person who previously held this role to talk about my past experience and what the job involves. Then I met with the head of procurement, the Treasurer, and a VP. They gave me a contract to look over and asked me to find any problems and suggest changes.
- What's your background working in different legal environments?
- Did you find any problems with the contract sample?
- What changes would you suggest for this contract?
Health Educator
I had a skype interview with a few interviewers. They were very nice and professional, but also easy to talk to. I genuinely enjoyed our conversations and even though I did not get through to the next stage, I think very highly of the interviewers and school and would not hesitate to apply for other positions in the future that I may be qualified for.
- Can you tell us about your experience in health education?
- How would you approach specific health-related scenarios at our school?
