Sidel Interview Questions
& Process

I applied online and got a call from HR about a week later. We had an initial chat where she explained the role and mentioned my profile was strong, and she'd pass it to the Hiring Manager. I haven't heard back since. The job description said hybrid, but the first 6 months require full-time in-office work. There was also an implementation project mentioned, but when I asked, I was told they don't know when it would start.

Recruiters are consistently late for interviews (3 different people across 3 interviews, one was over 20 minutes late without an apology or prior notice). I was ghosted twice after following up with emails, even for a role they initially contacted me about and I didn't feel was a good fit. My overall impression of the company isn't great. The HR and manager from Sidel were always late for all three interviews, with one person being over 20 minutes late without apologizing or giving a heads-up. I never received any feedback for either selection process despite my follow-up emails (and they contacted me for the second job). I didn't have a positive impression of the company.

The interview process began with a recruiter call to a Head Hunter based in Mexico City. After passing that initial stage, I proceeded to interviews with both the local and corporate Human Resources teams. Subsequently, I interviewed with the Senior Legal Counsel and the General Counsel. Since not all positions are based in the same location, the process took some time due to geographical differences. The final interviews took place in Guadalajara with the Managing Director and the Local HR department. An interesting observation was traveling on the same flight as another candidate who had also applied for the same role.

It was an easy first interview with one person. She scheduled another interview for me the next day with the manager. As soon as the interview started, I felt some hesitation from the manager; she wouldn't even look at me. Later, I asked the recruiter about updates, and he said I didn't get the job. He told me I was unprofessional, not soft-spoken, only gave one-word answers, and didn't have the same enthusiasm as the previous day. I was wearing a full suit and answered every question, and was told they were perfect. All the questions were the same as the day before. The crazy part is I hold business meetings and am always complimented on my character and professionalism. I just finished two other interviews with different companies and was offered the job. I feel like skin color played a part here.
