Marketing
I applied online and then heard back a few weeks later. The application process seemed designed to check if I could follow instructions. After applying, I got an email with a link to a 90-minute aptitude test, which was a requirement to be considered. When they reached out about an interview, it felt like another test. I had to pick between a phone or in-person interview. The email mentioned it would be short, so I chose in-person. To my surprise, they told me I'd have to give a PowerPoint presentation to the CEO, with specific requirements. Since the interview was so soon and I was told it would be brief, I didn't have time to prep a presentation and ended up declining the interview. This hiring process felt a bit off with all the unexpected steps. It might be a good place to work, but it wasn't the right fit for me.
- I thought some parts of the aptitude test were not only hard but also completely unrelated to the job I applied for.
Client Consultant
After I put my resume in on the web, I got called in for an in-person interview. It was a pain to get the resume to submit, and honestly, the job descriptions on the site didn't have much detail, which I wasn't happy about. When I sat down, the interviewer seemed like he was seeing my resume for the first time. He spent the first few minutes reading it. After one read-through, I got the vibe he'd already decided I wasn't a good fit. It would've been way more efficient if he'd just checked out my resume before I came in.
- What are your long term goals?
- What's your motivation?
- What's your understanding of our company?
Intern
Rhonda, the HR Director, gave me a call. She asked some basic things like when I could start and if I planned to move back to Charleston after graduating since I'm not local. She mentioned to expect some curveball questions, like asking about your favorite curse word and what song best describes your work ethic. She said these are designed to throw you off, so make sure you have good answers ready!
- What song would you say best represents your work ethic?
Core Engineer
The interview process was okay and disciplined. It was my first interview, so it was good enough. I expected more, but it was a good experience. The company has a good culture and is reputable. My first experience was good. That's it.
- Tell me about your strengths.
- What are your weaknesses?
- Can you tell us about yourself?
