Back-end API Engineer
So first I had a phone screen, then a call with a Senior Engineer, then I went on-site to meet the whole platform team. After that, they told me the next steps were either another on-site, an offer, or a rejection, depending on feedback from the team that interviewed me.
- From a platform/API viewpoint, describe how you'd construct a notification system to alert users about new features via a one-time modal in an iOS app.
Courier Manager
I had a phone interview first, then another one over the phone. After that, I went in for an in-person interview. In total, I spoke with three different people, all with different job titles and levels of experience. The interviewers were pretty good and kept me engaged, though the whole thing felt pretty laid back.
- Describe your approach to managing a team member who isn't meeting expectations.
Operations
Had a 15-20 minute phone screen. They asked me about my past work and projects, and what lessons or take-aways I had from them. I was also asked a question I wasn't expecting since I thought it'd just be behavioral: How would you handle or deal with the increase in volume for holiday seasons of November and December? (Using Shyp's services). The person on the phone was polite, courteous and informative and did an awesome job explaining the role. Best of luck to the company.
- Tell me about your previous work experience and projects.
- What lessons or takeaways did you have from your experiences?

Product Manager
I had one meeting with some interviewers, but I didn't get the job because I didn't have the experience they were looking for. I was really enthusiastic and passionate, but they said I needed an engineering background and some experience, which is essential for a company that's young and growing fast.
- Do you have prior experience in engineering?
