First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ShowMojo.
Sales Manager
Had multiple meetings with the CEO who is based internationally, so timing was a bit off but he was very direct. Also spoke with one of the current sales people to get more insights.
- How do you envision your success in this role?
Digital Marketing Specialist
The interview process started with the owner, followed by an interview with the operations manager, and then a final interview with the owner again. They asked a lot of good questions for this type of role, but things got a bit weird at the end. The owner was really focused on 'we can’t carry a bad hire' and spent a good chunk of time explaining how a trial period works before I would leave my current job. During the last interview, the owner gave a soft offer that was less than my current salary. I naturally countered, asking for a higher salary to get closer to my rate. The owner seemed annoyed that I didn't just take his first offer and didn't negotiate, so he pulled the offer completely. It was a really strange experience and honestly felt like a red flag about his management style and professionalism.
- Tell me about your experience with remote work.
- What is your current salary?
- What's your current compensation?
Operations Support
There was no face-to-face interview. Everything was done via email. After submitting your resume, the owner will contact you by email, and then you'll be hired for a trial period before they make you a full-time offer.
- Can you describe your experience with rentals?
Trade Coordinator
This was all done online. The job was supposed to need strong people skills, but they judged candidates on how fast they could use a software system.
- There were no questions asked, but you were tested on how fast you could type and manipulate software.
- You are expected to learn a software system and finish a process within a suggested 30 minute time frame.
