First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ShipperHQ.
Software QA Tester
First round was resume related. Second round was about projects and my testing background. Then the onsite part had two rounds. The first onsite round was with two interviewers. They asked me behavioral questions, gave me a bug report/bug finding task, and one easy coding question. The second onsite round was also with two people, and they focused on situational judgment, behavioral scenarios, conflict resolution, and prioritization.

Software Engineer
So basically, I talked to a senior engineer first for a screening. Then I had an on-site with that same senior engineer, another platform engineer, and then the CEO. It was pretty chill, and I got an offer the next day. I turned down other stuff to focus on ShipperHQ and asked about salary negotiation. They ghosted me for three days, then rescinded the offer saying they actually wanted someone more senior for the comp I suggested. I asked them to reconsider the original offer, but they said no. It's super weird to pull an offer after I asked about negotiation, especially after I dropped other opportunities for them. Total waste of my time, but hey, you learn from these things. Maybe it's a sign of how working there would be, considering the reviews.
- Can you describe how you'd create a function to find prime numbers up to a given integer N?
Support Engineer
I applied online via Indeed and got a reach out a few days later to come in for an interview. When I arrived I was greeted by the Marketing Assistant and had a standard in-office interview with the CEO & Head of Partnerships. We covered everything from tech stack to eCommerce Landscape. It was a challenging but enjoyable hour-plus interview for me as a new grad in my first technical interview, and it was very fast-paced.
- What are your thoughts on the eCommerce Landscape?
Marketing Coordinator
The interview process was super straightforward. I've dealt with interviews that drag on for 3-4 rounds, which is just too much. ShipperHQ kept it simple with a single round table chat with three employees, covering everything at once.
- What are your career aspirations for this next position?
- How would your colleagues describe you?
- What's prompting your departure from your present job?
